Thanks to one unorthodox architect, Edmonton is undergoing a design revolution – The Globe and Mail

This article talks about the architectural work that has been done around Edmonton for city facilities over the last few years.  As the article mentions, work that was previously done was often very ugly, just done for practical purposes.  Luckily, the city made a commitment to beautiful and functional design.  The newer facilities make a stark contrast to work that was done in the 80s and 90s.  Take a look around the city to see if you can find some of these lovely buildings.  You can enjoy some excellent recreation in most of them!

As the business of architecture consolidates, it becomes harder to create beautiful, challenging buildings. But thanks to one unorthodox architect, Edmonton is opening its doors to a brighter future
